Read | The Message of the Cross is Foolish
This Prayer Update is going out on April 1 – April Fools Day. Which, by the way, should be recognized as a statutory holiday. When I was a teenager, I put a rubber band around the spray faucet on our kitchen sink. I made sure it was directed at the person turning on the faucet. Sure enough, my dad came and turned on the water and got soaking wet. He thought it was so funny that he left it for the next person to get wet! The thing was, he forgot and soaked himself a second time! Today is a great day for good-natured fun!
People have told me that I am foolish for following Christ, and others say I made the best decision ever by following Christ. Am I a fool or wise? Don’t answer that. My Dad would say something like, “You are a fool either way, but you did make a good decision.”
There is no middle ground with following Jesus. If I never decided to follow Christ, then those who do will see me as a fool for not following Christ. But I follow Christ, and those who do not follow Christ may see me as a fool for following Christ. So, either way, I am a fool, but I am a fool following Christ, and it is working out well for me.
The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God.
1 Corinthians 1:18
Prayer Requests
Here are a few items that you can be praying for. Let’s continue to pray for God’s guidance as we continue to plan and prepare for this summer. Remember, we want as many people as possible to grow in a relationship with Jesus. So, let’s pray that God will guide our decisions and efforts today so that the most fruit from the ministry this summer will come about.
Schools and churches are beginning conversations about booking our facilities for their groups this fall. Let’s pray that we can book many groups this spring for fall and that our on-site operations will rebound well.
This April, Keith, Bradon, Jason and myself will once again be full-time. Pray with me that God will provide all we need to make this change.
Quick Reminder about our Annual Meeting, 1 pm this Saturday, April 10, at Faith Covenant Church in Breton, AB. All in attendance must follow all government restrictions and guidelines, including wearing masks and maintaining social distance. You can visit our website for details on attending online.
Remember as you pray that you belong to God. Thank you for praying for the ministry at Covenant Bay and for our world in general. There is no ministry apart from Christ. Pray with urgency and expectation.
