Summer Camps and COVID 19
Firstly, thank you for your continual support and patience. Plans and our approach continue to shift for this summer. We are excited to update you regarding the 2020 Summer Camps and COVID 19
Today, amongst the COVID 19 restrictions of the last few months, we hope to share some good news! In the last few weeks, the Alberta government has started to plan for a reopening of our province.
The reopening has a focus on outdoor recreational activities and programs. The hope is that these activities and programs will support the mental well-being of children and youth. The government has recognized that children and adults alike need play!
Summer camps can reopen in stage one, May 14th, with limited occupancy. We have given input through the ACA (Alberta Camping Association) and CCI (Christian Camping International) regarding proposed policies and procedures. Together, they have submitted a proposal for the government to review. This document outlines the safe reopening and summer programming of Alberta summer camps.
Once the government responds, we will then finalize plans for this summer. We will create best practices for our organization that keep children, youth, and staff safe and healthy.
Summer programming will look different. This summer, we intend to offer programs both on-site and digitally! We will do our due diligence to keep a safe and happy environment at Covenant Bay Bible Camp.
We are excited to follow up with you as we begin to finalize plans for the 2020 Summer Camps and our COVID 19 response.
Regardless of the plans for this summer, you can be sure that Covenant Bay will remain true to its purpose of promoting a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
