FAQ

Q: How old do I have to be to work at Covenant Bay?

For paid positions, you must be graduated High School (minimum 17 years of age).

For volunteer positions, there are different age requirements. Some start at 16 years of age.

Some are paid, some are volunteer. We’ve separated them into tabs below!

Q: When is Staff Orientation & Training?

Staff Orientation is June 6-8, 2025. Staff Training is June 30-July 4, 2025.

These are MANDATORY dates that must be attended by paid staff.

HEAD COOK

DESCRIPTION:

The Head Cook will be prepared for all camps, programs and rental groups requiring food services. They will be responsible for food planning, preparation and delivery. They will supervise and support kitchen staff and volunteers. The Head Cook will ensure that the kitchen facility and food preparation meets or exceeds health standards. They will ensure the kitchen and all equipment are clean and in safe working order daily. Experience cooking for large groups and a heart for ministry are necessary.

ASSISTANT COOK

DESCRIPTION:

The Assistant Cook will help the head cook prepare meals and snacks, clean kitchen and equipment, serve meals and plan menus.

Camp Counsellor | 6/6 Positions Available | 7 Weeks

CAMP COUNSELLOR

The Camp Counsellors will supervise and mentor campers assigned to their cabin or tent. The primary objective is to mentor and support campers.

DESCRIPTION:

The Day Camp Coordinator will plan and lead the Day Camp program. A program for kids ages 4-10 that introduces them to summer camp and the foundations of the Christian Faith.

Works directly with the Events Manager to ensure the rental program is run with excellence.

The Chaplin will oversee the planning and leading of chapel times during summer camp. This will include the music, speaking, skits, technology, atmosphere and more.

The Summer Camp Manager will manage summer camp programs and events in coordination with the Staff Pastor and Executive Director.

DESCRIPTION:

The Staff Pastor will serve as a resource to the staff, helping them grow in a relationship with Jesus Christ. The Staff Pastor will care for and develop all program staff. They will lead daily staff devotions and assist the Executive Director with staff discipline. The Staff Pastor will assist the bookkeeper in distributing and collecting employment forms. They will work with the Elevate Coordinator to mentor youth and support the bookkeeper with payroll.

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR

DESCRIPTION:

The Volunteer Coordinator will provide onboarding, training and support to all volunteers. They will work closely with other coordinators to ensure a seamless entry for volunteers into their roles.

ELEVATE COORDINATOR

DESCRIPTION:

The Elevate Coordinator will plan and lead the Elevate program. It is a discipleship program that helps young people develop a strong faith and become competent in their service to others.

LIFEGUARD

DESCRIPTION:

The lifeguard will ensure all water activities at the waterfront are done safely and according to the training he or she has received. The lifeguard will be in charge of making sure that the area is fully equipped and that safety equipment is present.

The Day Camp Assistant will assist the Day Camp Coordinator. They will lead a group of day campers through the day’s scheduled activities.

DESCRIPTION:

Volunteers serving as Camp Support will fill short-duration roles critical to the summer camp program. Volunteers are welcome to join in on meals while they are onsite and enjoy one free treat from the camp store.

CAMP NURSE

DESCRIPTION:

Provide basic medical care for our staff and campers. This includes but is not limited to, daily medication handouts, logs, basic first aid, reporting, incident reporting, and safety training. The Camp Nurse will be of legal adult age, live in residence and be fully responsible to the camp administration for the health care of all campers.
