Hey Friends, It’s been a long time since I have last shared a prayer update. On my Sabbatical, the staff at Covenant Bay surprised me with an office makeover. Let me show you quickly. I am so grateful for the time away from work and coming back to this awesome new office space. Many of you have reached out to me while I was away to let me know that you were praying for me. Thanks for that – I’ve been praying for you too!

But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like.

James 1:22-24

Covenant Bay is part of the Evangelical Covenant Church and one of the things Covenanters say is that we affirm the centrality of the word of God. And the author James picks up on this that we can’t simply be people who have head knowledge but God’s word ought to change how we live, how we think, how we interact with others. God’s word should change us at our core, our hearts so to speak.

This summer campers will hear God’s word. Pray with me that their lives will be changed as a result.

We are currently hiring summer staff and we want them to be people who are shaped and formed by God’s word. Pray for them that God will prepare them for this summer.

Finally, let’s pray that God’s word that is preached at camp will go home with each camper and begin to shape and form the campers’ families. Wouldn’t it be incredible to see whole families coming to know Christ and growing closer to him because campers are living and have been shaped by God’s word?

Thanks for praying with me. I appreciate it so much. A couple of dates to keep in your calendar. April 9th at 11 am is our Annual General Meeting at the camp. Please plan on coming to this event. Second, we have scheduled the Fundraising Dinner for June 4th. More info and tickets will be available soon.

It’s good to be back. I will chat with you next week.
