New tents are up!

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

Well the new tents are up and they look great. Plenty of space inside with a great platform. I am excited to see how the campers respond to the new tents. I think this will make for a great camping experience! These tents are located in the tree’s next to the large field!

New Mountain Bikes

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

We are excited to be having new Mountain Bikes this year. Last fall we had generous donation to cover the cost of 10 new mountain bikes. These bikes will be used primarly for our middle camps and up. Hopefully we can expand our mountain bike collection and continue to offer great programing. All of our bikes are high quality entry level bikes with front suspension made by brands like Norco and Trek. One of the questions I am often asked is where are you going to ride. The provincial park next door offers over 13km of trails, more than enough to challenge our campers and leaders.

Three Really Big Tents

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009

Considering our limited camper space we are working hard at making more room. After some constructive discussion about the pros and cons, we have recently made a decision to purchase some canvas tents. These tents will be able to house about 6 campers and two cabin leaders and will be tall enough for a grown man to walk through they will have wooden floors, cots with plenty of room between, storage for suit cases and other stuff, cloths line and a small porch. These tents will be put just off the field where the old ropes course is. We are excited about the possiblities of this extended camping area.It is both fun to dream and work the details out for our camp.

Ski Boat

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

In 2007 CBBC received a generous donation of a ski boat. 2009 will be our second full season with this boat. We have seen many wonderful out comes from having a ski/wake board program. It is awesome to see campers learn to ski or wake board and the confidence and self image transformation that happens within them. Surprisingly this has had a big impact on our chapel times. Students with a new confidence are now more open to everything including the life changing gospel of Jesus Christ. It is exciting to see how God can use anything he chooses to transform people. I wonder what else he is going to use?
