Prayer Update - Aug 25, 2016

Psalm 19:1-2

   The heavens declare the glory of God;

The skies proclaim the work of his hands
   Day after day they pour forth speech;
Night after night they reveal knowledge.

Oh how God reveals himself through his creation and what a privilege it is to soak in the beauty of His world at camp.  How many times has God spoken to us in the beauty of his creation?  How many heart cries has he heard and responded to in this special place?  This has been a good summer of coming into His presence.  It has been a summer of meeting and growing together with Jesus. Praise and Glory to God!!

Praise God for a great summer of camp.  We have had amazing staff, good speakers, great food and fun and many campers.  The most and the best of all is that participants and staff have grown closer to Jesus and others have started on their faith journey by making a decision to follow Jesus!!  The kingdom of God is growing!!!

Today is the last day of Covenant summer camps.  Pray for both staff and campers as they transition into school, work and/or home life.  Pray for strength to follow Jesus with all their hearts.

Praise God for a successful 'Leaders in Training' camp last week sponsored by ECCC in partnership with Covenant Bay.  Participants were challenged and learned much through this experience.

Pray for the fall programs and rental groups that will continue to use the camp. Pray specifically for
   - the Marriage Retreat being led by Jeremy and Jennifer Blackwood October 21-23 and
   - the Sacred Space Spiritual Retreat September 30 - October 2 led by Spiritual Director Randall Freison.

Praise and pray for the expanding of the camp facility and the Capital Campaign to raise dollars for the Group Housing building to start within the next year.

Thanks for your prayers each day as they are presented to our Heavenly Father.  God continues to be faithful.

Prayer Update - July 28, 2016

At this weeks Covenant Bay Board meeting our Chair, Skylar White shared with us from Isaiah

Isaiah 41:8-10 NIV

8 “But you, Israel, my servant,
    Jacob, whom I have chosen,
    you descendants of Abraham my friend,
9 I took you from the ends of the earth,
    from its farthest corners I called you.
I said, ‘You are my servant’;
    I have chosen you and have not rejected you.
10 So do not fear, for I am with you;
    do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
    I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

This is God's word to us and what a promise it is!!  We have witnessed His strength and help since this ministry began in 1929 and we continue to be recipients of this undeserved favor.  Praise be to our loving and faithful God.

Thanks for your prayers.  Camp programs are going well and God's Spirit continues to work in the lives of both campers and staff alike.  Here are this weeks prayer requests:

  1. Pray for the Semi-annual meeting on Saturday at camp as decisions are made regarding the Group Housing building project. Pray that we will be atune with God's perfect plan for Covenant Bay and that Saturday's decisions will reflect that.

  2. Pray for God's blessing on Family Camp this weekend and for Donn Engebretson as he speaks.  Pray for growth in our walk with Jesus.  Pray also for the remainder of the children's camps in August.

  3. Pray for safety at camp and as people travel to and from this place.

  4. Pray for Operational finances this summer and wisdom as we make important financial decisions.  Although we are able to pay summer staff much better than in previous years because of grant approvals, we have to wait for these government grant funds to arrive. This has created operational cash flow issues. Pray that these cheques will come soon and that there will be a strong Camp Sunday offering this weekend.  Pray for wisdom as we navigate these cash flow issues.

  5. Pray for Covenant Bay volunteers, cooks, summer staff, speakers, board and directors. They are working long hours and need our prayers and encouragement.

  6. Pray for our camp rental groups as they too spread to message of salvation to those coming to their camps.

May God's rich blessings be yours this day.  Thanks for your prayers and looking forward to seeing you in person soon.

Capital Matching Challenge

Plans are here and we are excited to show them to you! Colours have not yet been chosen and there will be many finishing changes and perhaps minor floor plan changes.

The cost for this building completed, with no volunteer or donated labour, is 1.5 Million. The cost for the exterior to be completed, with an unfinished interior will cost $930,000. We will continue to work with Tricon to refine these plans and estimated costs. The Board is in discussions about completing this building in stages. After stage 1 we would want a portion of the building to be functional!

Pray for Tricon, our Fundraising Committee, Building Committee and Board as they work toward completing the plans and presentation for the Semi Annual Meeting on July 30, 2016 at 2:00pm during Family Camp 2.

Send your questions and comments to jon@covenantbay.ca

We will continue to send updates as decisions are made.
